Things have slowed down quite a bit with production on several of our properties as Josh, who works on both Pineapple Pizza Man as artist, and Chicken Warrior as Colourist and letterer has officially become a father, welcoming a beautiful baby girl into the world. Work on those projects as such have to take a bit of a back seat to the demanding, but fulfilling adjustment to life with a baby. The projects will resume once things are a litte less crazy.
In other news:
The SECRET COMIC is very close to being funded. There’s just under 120 dollars left to bring it over the edge and into reality. If you’re interested in a free physical comic with secretive contents, please consider bringing us home on that. It’s a very exciting project, and the cover will be done by no other than the fantastically talented Alejandro Mirabal of Longharbor fame.

What is this secret comic?
The Secret comic is a passion project that will be written and drawn by Josh VanHalteren with additional story consulting by Theron Kurth. An idea that he’s had in his head for several years now that he has decided NOW is finally the time to start working on it.
What is the $1000 going towards?
Josh has gone ahead and scouted an AMAZING cover artist who is absolutely PERFECT for the type of content contained within the pages of this secret comic. This was the price that will get us this artist for the cover.
Why 1000$
Because he’s seriously amazing and worth every penny of the price.
Why are the contents of this comic a secret?
Unfortunately we can’t reveal all the reasons why that is. But a big part of it is the fun of the mystery. We haven’t ever seen someone fund or make a secret comic and thought that the idea would build some genuine anticipation to want to find out what it is and why it’s a secret. When people start receiving the comic it will become abundently clear why we kept it a secret. One thing we can assure with abslute confidence is that it is VERY exciting.
How much will it cost?
Absolutely NOTHING the secret comic will be 100% free to whoever receives it.
Free? Why free?
The reason why we’re offering it for free is something that we can’t quite explain without giving away what the comic will be about.
Will it be available digitally and physically?
The secret comics will be physical ONLY! No digitals for the secret comic will ever be made available.
Why physical only?
We’re big fans of physical print media. There’s nothing quite like it, plus it’s a special collector’s item that you can only get in a few very specific ways. Making it available digitally, we feel, would decrease the specialness of the comic and we also want to make it something only available to people who are active supporters of Science Wizard Comics. You have to know about it to get it.
How do I get my hands on this secret comic?

Sign up for our newsletter here on ScienceWizardComics.com and you will automatically be notified of the raffles on our various social media sites AND get automatically entered in to win the occassional newsletter only raffles for a chance to win one.
Support our crowdfunding campaigns. With our crowdfunding campaigns we will be slipping the occassional secret comic into random backer’s packages for free. and that’s for ANY of the Science Wizard crowdfunding campaigns on Indiegogo or Kickstarter.
If you meet Josh or Theron in person and ask them for the secret comic. Whether out in public, at a comic shop, at a convention, if you meet up with the creators and ask for the secret comic and if they have some available to give, then they will happily provide you with a copy.
If Josh or Theron just think you’re a cool person and they just want to send you or give you a free comic.

ANNOUNCEMENT:
CHICKEN WARRIOR HAS A NEW ART TEAM!!
Originally The Chicken Warrior series was going to be written penciled, inked, and coloured entirely by Smackin Kraken (Jason McHenry) all by himself. But after teaming up on the 2020 Christmas card art and discovering an undeniable artistic Synergy, Troy and Josh joined the team as Inker and Colourist respectively with this gorgeous cover for the upcoming CHICKEN WARRIOR first issue being the first of the fruits of their labour!
Josh(VanHalteren): “I’m absurdly excited to be joining as the official colourist for the Chicken Warrior series. Kraken has crafted an amazingly rich story, world, and cast of characters and brings an incredible sense of life and kinetic action to every panel. I’ve also always wanted to work directly with Troy since first getting to know him so this is an absolute dream project for me to be a part of. Troys inks elevate Krakens already excellent pencils, and I hope that my colours do both of their efforts justice.”
Kraken (McHenry): "It honestly felt like the right thing to do. The Chicken Warrior Webcomic that originally ran in summer of 2017 was done entirely by me alone and the art was, well, lackluster. When I set out to reboot the character from scratch, I wanted to try again doing it alone. But as time went on, it became more clear that this wasn't something to half ass. A LOT of love was put into this script and these characters, and I didn't want the reader to be distracted by art that, while good, could have been better. The reader deserves more, and Josh and Troy take what I do and make it actually something that I would swear comes from the Big 2. I owe a lot to them, and hopefully, this will only be the beginning of this dynamic art team!"
Troy(Torres): “It is an honor to work on this comic with two talented artists I respect so much. After a Christmas time collaboration it was beyond obvious we needed to take our combined efforts over to the pages, and covers of SWC books. I personally have a high level of satisfaction bringing my colleagues closer and closer to publication. It’s a great achievement they deserve, and I’m dedicated to seeing through.
